might have to turn your head for this one

i think this was in may with emily at the ropes course...

the screen saver on my laptop... it reminds me to be kind... and that we are all in this together

this video is only awesome if you know my former vehicle... my friend was stuck... it took special moves to get in and out of that car... and on this day the car was in a parade... SUUs homecoming parade... I have never had school spirit... so it was really funny to drive my beauty down main street for the event.

PSA in Oakland, CA

Went to Oakland for the annual PSA conference... These were my classmates... i am terrible with names... Bonnie is next to me and Richard in the background... the trip was hilarious... mostly Bonnie and Richard were hilarious...

Antalope Island... where there is only room for clarity...

One of my favorite friends in SLC, Lisa... She is a great friend to have... This is our bike ride on Antelope Island... the great salt lake... it is so peaceful... so empty... i felt carried and refreshed... Laren got two flat tires... The ranger gave a ride back to our car... The ranger is Irish and wanted me to be too just because I am a redhead.

Janalie... who is always tempting me to run away... leave the country... save the world

Janalie came to visit... she emailed me sometime in May and said... want to climb a mountain?... my answer was YES!!! we didn't climb a mountain that day, but we did see a moose... we talked about peace... about how cool it is to be a woman... about how we are in the process of saving the world... talked about boys... ate snacks by the lake...and justin came along for time... great day!!! great people...

Jimmy, Amy, me, Emily, Helaman... My girls and their men... I am glad that they have each other and that before they were Mrs. blah blah blah we were three silly foreigners riding around Taiwan on scooters...This is before Emily and Helaman took off for Australia... I hope they come home soooon!!!

classmates

I spent the first part of 2007 as a Sociology student at SUU. SUU has been my 5th and final school. These were my classmates and dear friends... Either I am lucky to find real people everywhere I go, or I am lucky that real people find me... either way... I love these girls... Favorite memory was the three of us standing on the back of a jeep for two miles coming out of Mulie Twist of Capitol Reef Nat'l Park. Our fingers barely clenched the top rack that had a few screws loose... we were standing on tippy toes on the bumper that seemed equally secure... not to mention the fact that we were being weighed down by our backpacks... as I looked back and forth at my sisters I couldn't help but laugh... I felt like puking, but just kept laughing until I was numb and had to abandon ship... Such great girls... they are both doing great things and will keep doing great things!!! Every time I talked to them about their futures and dreams it made me so excited... because they are both so young and so full of adventure... love them

this year... that year

I didnt take many photos this year. That is very unlike me... Since jr.high I have always had a low quality camera capturing the moment... play by play... why no photos?... it might have something to do with a paper i wrote in social theory about how we are too busy making memories that we forget to live in the moment... experience... taste, touch, smell, feel...

of the memories from this year i have chosen to capture a few... why these over others?... i don't know...
but for my own sake... i am going to attempt to post them...

in the begining

there was a tanya. her computer. a new year. and a new blog.

what will the new year bring... a few things i know... the end of school... space made for the new...

what is the new... i know and recognize an exploration taking place... this desire to hear, know, understand a world that is in constant motion... a desire to know things that can easily be ignored, but that are always there... also a willingness to recognize that there are others who are awakening to the same thing... and i am meeting them... the good and great people of the planet... and i get to know them... this is very exciting

about two years ago someone told me that i was metaphorically standing on the edge of a cliff hesitating... this hesitation was fear... who i was/am was meant to leap and know i would be carried... carried through life from one adventure to the next... but something blocked this from happening...

i think i am starting to understand how to let go and trust... to trust that life will carry me... that because of who i am i will experience the best that life has to offer... because i want it. :) it is time. time to walk on water...

right now... i am feeling really excited.
